This page explains what information Teesside Digital collects through this website, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask Dave to do with it.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Who is responsible
Teesside Digital is run by David Young as a sole trader. Dave is responsible for the personal information described here (the "data controller", in data-protection terms).
For anything about your information, email dave@teessidedigital.uk.
Based in Hartlepool, Teesside.
What is collected
When you send an enquiry, the form asks for your name, email address and a description of what you need, and optionally your business name, website address and a budget or spending limit.
When you request a website review, the form asks for your name, email address and the website you want reviewed, and optionally anything you would like Dave to look at.
When you email Dave directly, he receives whatever you include in your message.
When you visit any page, the website's host automatically processes technical information needed to deliver the page and keep the site secure, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information through the forms or by email.
Why it is used
- Enquiries: to reply to you and discuss the work you have described. This is done because you asked for it, and so Dave can take the steps needed before any agreement.
- Website reviews: to carry out the review you requested and email you the report. This is done because you asked for it.
- Client records: if you go on to work with Teesside Digital, your details are kept to deliver the work, invoice for it and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- Technical information: to deliver the website and protect it from misuse.
Your details are not used for marketing, not added to a mailing list, and not sold.
Who else handles it
Dave uses two services that process your information on his behalf:
- Netlify, which hosts this website and receives form submissions. Netlify is based in the United States, so form submissions and technical information are processed there. Read Netlify's privacy policy
- Zoho Mail, which provides Dave's email. Messages are held in Zoho's EU data centre. Read Zoho's privacy policy
Netlify protects information transferred outside the UK using the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Nobody else has access to your information unless the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Copies of form submissions held by Netlify: deleted within 30 days. Dave keeps the email copy.
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: deleted 12 months after the last contact.
- Website review requests and reports: deleted 12 months after the report is sent.
- Client records: kept for as long as tax law requires, which for a sole trader is usually around six years.
- Technical information processed by the host: kept according to Netlify's own retention, outside Dave's control.
Cookies and storage
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking, and does not load content from other websites.
If you choose Dark or Light using the theme switch, your browser remembers that choice on your own device so the site looks the same next time. It is not sent anywhere. You can clear it through your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask Dave to:
- tell you what information he holds about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop or limit how it is used;
- give you your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
To ask, email dave@teessidedigital.uk. Dave will reply within one month, as the law requires. You will not be charged.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data-protection regulator. Visit the ICO website
